Our Story in Dekai

YFPP's ministry in Dekai began through the establishment of a Christian school to serve children and families in Yahukimo.

What started as a small educational initiative has grown into a long-term commitment to provide holistic Christian education, develop local educators, and strengthen the capacity of the community.

What Impact Means to Us

For YFPP, impact is not measured only by the number of students enrolled or programs delivered.

We look for deeper change: children who grow in faith and character, teachers who become more capable and confident, local leaders who take greater responsibility, and communities that are increasingly able to shape their own future.

Our goal is long-term transformation that is locally rooted, relational, and sustainable.

Education in Yahukimo

Through Sekolah Kristen Yahukimo (SKY) in Dekai, YFPP serves children and families in one of Papua's most challenging educational contexts.

Our approach combines academic learning, Christian spiritual formation, character development, mentoring, and practical life skills.

We aim to create a school community where students are known, supported, challenged to grow, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

Stories of Change

Behind every program are children, teachers, families, and local leaders whose lives are being shaped through long-term relationships and opportunities to grow.

We believe meaningful change is often seen in small but significant steps: a student gaining confidence, a teacher becoming more effective in the classroom, a young leader learning to make wise decisions, or a community taking greater ownership of its future.

These stories remind us that transformation is not always immediate or easy to measure, but it becomes visible over time through people who grow, serve, and influence others.
