About Yayasan Fasilitator Pelayanan Pengharapan
Equipping Papuan communities to grow, lead, and serve.
Who We Are
Yayasan Fasilitator Pelayanan Pengharapan (YFPP) is a Christian foundation committed to serving communities in Papua through education, spiritual formation, leadership development, and community empowerment.
We believe that lasting transformation happens when people are not only supported, but also equipped to grow, take responsibility, lead, and serve their own communities.
For this reason, YFPP works alongside churches, schools, ministry organizations, community leaders, and other partners to strengthen local capacity and encourage sustainable, locally led transformation.
Our Journey
Our journey began in 2006 when churches, ministry organizations, and Christian individuals came together through Forum Pelayanan Papua to respond to the needs of communities in Papua.
Field visits revealed significant challenges in education, health, community development, and spiritual formation, particularly in remote areas.
In 2017, the ministry developed into Yayasan Fasilitator Pelayanan Pengharapan (YFPP), creating a stronger platform for collaboration, local capacity building, and sustainable ministry.
Today, YFPP places a growing emphasis on education and the development of Papuan educators and leaders who can serve their own communities for the long term.
Our Vision
To equip a generation of Papuans who are rooted in Christ, growing in knowledge and character, and prepared to lead and serve for the transformation of their communities.
Our Mission
To provide holistic Christian education, develop Papuan educators and leaders, strengthen local capacity, and build partnerships that contribute to sustainable transformation in Papua.
Our Approach
We believe meaningful transformation requires more than programs or resources. It grows through relationship, trust, participation, and long-term commitment.
For this reason, YFPP seeks to work with local communities rather than simply for them. We listen, learn, identify local strengths, and create opportunities for Papuan teachers, leaders, families, churches, and young people to take an active role in shaping the future of their communities.
Our role is to connect people, resources, knowledge, and opportunities so that local leaders can grow and take greater responsibility over time.
Education
Education is one of the main areas of YFPP's ministry.
Through Sekolah Kristen Yahukimo (SKY) in Dekai, YFPP seeks to provide holistic Christian education that develops students academically, spiritually, socially, and personally.
We believe education should go beyond academic achievement. A school should help children grow in character, understand their identity and calling, build healthy relationships, and learn how to contribute to their communities.
Developing Local Leaders
One of YFPP's long-term priorities is the development of Papuan educators and leaders.
We invest in mentoring, professional development, leadership formation, and practical experience so that Papuan teachers and emerging leaders can increasingly take responsibility for schools, ministries, and community initiatives.
Our goal is to nurture leaders who demonstrate competence, integrity, spiritual maturity, wisdom, and a heart for service.
Partnership
YFPP believes that lasting transformation requires collaboration. No single organization can address the complex needs of communities alone.
We therefore value partnerships with churches, educational institutions, Christian organizations, government agencies, donors, professionals, and individuals who are willing to contribute their expertise, resources, experience, and prayers.
For YFPP, partnership is more than financial support. It is about bringing different strengths together around a shared commitment to the long-term transformation of communities in Papua.
Our Leadership
YFPP is led by a team of ministry leaders and professionals who share a commitment to Christian education, community development, and the development of local leaders in Papua.
Together, they provide governance, strategic direction, and operational leadership to support the foundation's mission and long-term ministry in Papua.
